Stash Hotel Rewards members can now earn points at more than 400,000 hotels around the world.
The loyalty program for independent hotels announced Monday that members will be able to earn points even when they stay at hotels outside of the Stash partner network. The exciting move means that members can even earn points at select chain properties.
Moving forward, members who book non-partner hotels through StashRewards.com will earn one point per $1 spent, compared to five points per $1 spent when booking Stash partner hotels. Members' Stash points will never expire and can be redeemed for free stays at any Stash partner property.
"We know that travelers can't always stay at an amazing Stash Partner Hotel," said Stash Hotel Rewards CEO Jeff Low in a statement accompanying Monday's news. "Now, even if you're stuck staying a chain hotel, you can still earn points toward a free night at a one-of-a-kind independent hotel."
To commemorate the new feature, the company said that now through January 31, 2017, members will earn 1,000 bonus points after completing their first stay booked through its website, 2,000 bonus points after completing their second stay and 3,000 bonus points after their third.
The Stash partner network currently includes more than 160 independent hotels across the mainland U.S., Hawaii, Panama and the Caribbean.
