Unlocking New Hotels Offerings in The Florida Keys
Unquestionably, the Florida Keys has historically drawn travelers attracted to its easy-going vibe. With a slate of new properties on the horizon, those travelers are now being afforded more options than ever before.
In all, from late last year through 2016, the destination will be 1,000 rooms richer, said Florida Key tourism officials
One of the most notable additions to the Florida Keys’ hotel scene will be the Playa Largo Resort & Spa in Key Largo, which is scheduled to open its doors later this year. The Marriott Autograph Collection property will be on well over 14 acres and feature 144 rooms and suites, 10 bungalows and a three-bedroom beach house.
This spring, the first of three Keys Collection properties in Key West, the 245-room Gates Hotel, made its debut. In May, the Fairfield Inn and Suites opened its doors. The third Keys Collection hotel, the Hilton Garden Inn, is scheduled to open in December.
Next summer, H2O Suites, the former Spindrift Motel, is scheduled to make its debut. The Key West property will feature 22 luxury one-bedroom suites, including some with private plunge pools.
The Florida Keys’ hotel expansion began in late 2014, with the debut of The Marker Waterfront Resort.
