Who says you have to abandon a healthy lifestyle when traveling? Viceroy Zihuatanejo encourages guests to maintain that routine while vacationing at its beautiful Pacific Coast resort, which fringes Playa La Ropa. The resort has teamed with wellness pioneer Dr. Edward A. Taub, M.D. to provide a multifaceted program designed to help guests maintain health, happiness and wellness on the road.
The "Way to Wellness" program is directed by Dr. Taub, who described wellness as a sense of vitality reflecting a balance of physical, mental and spiritual energies so that the power of our natural healing force will flow freely to nourish and nurture our inner being.

The doctor noted that "Way to Wellness" is designed to help participants manage stress, considered one of the greatest health issues in today's frenzied world. "The program guides guests to happiness, health and wellness by enabling them to enjoy a more active, vibrant and rewarding lifestyle," he explained.
Long considered a wellness hub, the resort is an ideal complement to Dr. Taub's program thanks to its emphasis and resources that help guests maintain a healthy lifestyle.
"A significant percentage of our guests are very active when on vacation at the resort, doing everything from kayaking to running on the beach" said General Manager Martin Kipping. "So they are likely to be predisposed to participating in and taking full advantage of our 'Way to Wellness' program."
Kipping added, "With 600 feet of beachfront, many sports and recreational facilities, and now our new wellness program, Viceroy Zihuatanejo is the destination's leading resort for travelers seeking a vibrant, engaged and beneficial experience."
The resort has recently added a dedicated yoga/wellness instructor and a new chef who focuses on healthy cuisine and cooking classes. "This has helped to expand our wellness offerings," said Kipping. "We even offer an excursion to a vegan market, led by our chef and followed by a healthy cooking class on the beach."

Viceroy Zihuatanejo wellness aspects include:
• Healthy cuisine prepared with natural, locally produced ingredients. Full vegetarian and vegan menus are also available.
• A bevy of water sports from kayaking, surfing, windsurfing and sailing to water-skiing, snorkeling and scuba diving.
• A stunning location along a stunning coastline with miles of white-sand beach.
• A variety of wellness classes that include Tai Chi, paddleboard yoga, mindful meditation and alternative medicine.
• Interactive cooking classes that include plucking fresh ingredients from the town's central market.
• Tennis courts, fitness center and three swimming pools.
Viceroy Zihuatanejo also created a unique and healthy snack offered in its fitness center, as a reward to guests who remain committed to working out on vacation. The Aztec Energy bar is prepped with nuts, oats, dried fruits and amaranth - a traditional Mexican grain that was an Aztec staple.
