Fall is a great time to escape to Canada. The snow may fly earlier at those latitudes, but the exchange rate is favorable and Canadian cities are welcoming and cosmopolitan. Several Canadian destinations are well priced into the fall and winter, each espousing their own distinct heritage and the diverse charisma of vibrant world cities. From the old world charm of Quebec City to the fresh flavors of Canada's Pacific coast, I've included something to whet most appetites for a weekend getaway, so keep reading.
Enjoy a Royal Slumber at the Fairmont Royal York
Lakeside views in Toronto are especially vibrant with the foliage during the fall season, and the landmark Fairmont Royal York is in a prime location to enjoy both views of the lake and the vibrant city center. Guests can enjoy the vintage charm of the 1929 building, once the tallest building in the British Commonwealth, and dining both traditional and contemporary, from the Library Bar to the only Benihana in Canada.
Singles, couples, or families can hole up for the weekend and enjoy a $50 Food & Beverage credit, a complimentary in-room movie, internet access, valet parking, and adult/child bathrobes for use during the stay. Rates start from $239 CAD per night (Just $181 USD at press time) plus tax per night.

Fall Into Winter at Four Seasons Vancouver
Fall in Vancouver can alternate between an extended summer and cool and damp, but in either case, the indoor-outdoor city has much to offer visitors. The Four Seasons Vancouver is one of only two Forbes Five Star-rated hotels in the city, and it's right in the heart of the downtown core in a 30 story tower atop Pacific Centre. Like much of the city, the hotel is built for any contingency with features like an indoor-outdoor pool.
The Fall Into Winter rate requires a two-night stay. Exchange rates fluctuate but we found rates from $330CAD ($290USD at press time) per night for city view executive junior suite for several value dates throughout the fall season.
Christmas comes early at the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac
Quebec City exudes old world charm, and the hilltop Le Chateau Frontenac is perhaps one of its most enduring icons. The hotel has just undergone a multimillion dollar refresh, and offers views of the St. Lawrence River, and the architecture of the fortified colonial city, which has been designated a UNESO World Heritage Site. In addition to the views, the hotel's location right in the heart of one of Canada's most walkable cities makes it a great base for exploring.
When the snow flies in early November, the hotel celebrates an early Christmas with the Christmas in November Package, which includes overnight accommodations, a $25 daily food & beverage credit, and Santa Claus visits on Sundays in November. French speakers (or at least those who understand spoken French well enough to follow) can access culinary and mixology workshops on Saturdays through November 26. Rates start at $179-$199 CAD per night ($135-$150 USD at press time); note that this package requires a nonrefundable one night deposit at the time of booking.
