Weekend Getaways: November in the Northeast

It’s already November, which means the inevitable slide toward year-end when time seems to vanish at the end of the year has begun. Take advantage of one of the last remaining weekends of the year with one of these packages at prime spots throughout the historic East, from the Beltway to Broadway, and a bucolic bay-front inn right smack in between.

Refresh with Mandarin Oriental Washington, D.C.

Located in a unique position on D.C.’s waterfront, the Mandarin Oriental Washington, D.C. just completed a refresh of its guest rooms. Shades of robin’s egg blue complement earth tones and rich mahogany furnishings, including a round mahogany table in lieu of the traditional desk paired with a set of wingback chairs. The hotel is convenient to the National Mall and offers views of the Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, and the cherry trees lining the hotel’s garden.

The Refresh, Rejuvenate package was launched in celebration of the guest room refresh and includes deluxe water view accommodations, a welcome tea amenity, $100 spa credit per night, complimentary valet parking and internet, and a bath and shower oil set from the spa. Rates start at $375 per night and are available through April, 2017.

Indulge in Friday Night Oysters at the Inn at Perry Cabin

Just a quick drive from the major capitals of the East in Maryland’s Eastern Shore, the Inn at Perry Cabin by Belmond is in a good location for an autumn weekend trip. Relax with a view of the water or explore the shore using one of the hotel’s complimentary bicycles. Take an early afternoon away and enjoy oysters fresh from the Chesapeake by dinner time, and spend the morning wiling away with a book and a view or perhaps spend some time in the spa after breakfast.

During this shoulder season, there are plenty of inclusions with the Friday Night Oysters Package, including 10 percent off the best available rate, a one category upgrade confirmed at the time of booking, a $50 credit at Purser’s Pub, and daily à la carte breakfast for two. The package is available through Nov. 20.

Skate away at Conrad New York

For those seeking a winter experience in New York City’s burgeoning downtown neighborhood, the all-suite Conrad New York is offering a curated skating package for both overnight guests. When not skating, guests can relax in sumptuously furnished suites, some with Hudson River Views, enjoy the modern art throughout the hotel, or sip cocktails at the rooftop bar.

The Conrad Skate Package, in partnership with The Rink at Brookfield Place with Gregory & Petukhov, offers overnight accommodations, continental breakfast for two, and a private hour-long skating lesson with U.S. Olympic skaters Melissa Gregory and Denis Petukhov along with several Olympic-branded accessories and personalized autographs. The packages were offered during the last winter seasoned and are back by popular demand. Packages start at $599 per night and are available from Nov. 15 through Feb. 26.

That’s all for this week. I’m starting to round up holiday specials, so stay tuned for more weekend getaways.
