Delos recently announced the expansion of its healthy hotel room concept into six Marriott International hotels across the U.S.

First launched nearly four years ago at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, the Stay Well hotel room only costs guests $30 extra per night, but could make all the difference in the quality of their stay.

The rooms are equipped with evidence-based health and wellness features that include enhanced mattresses, special lighting and even aromatherapy.

Improving Your Sleep

A key aspect of any successful hotel stay is a good night's sleep. Stay Well room features designed to improve guests' sleep include circadian rhythm lighting, dawn simulation and a healthy mattress.

Dawn simulation allows guests to wake more naturally with the help of ambient sound and increasing light, while the memory foam mattress and pillows are encased in an effort to reduce the build-up of dust and allergens.

Guests can also access sleep programs and a jet lag tool through the Stay Well mobile app.

Stress Reduction

Stress is unavoidable while traveling and so it is only appropriate that a healthy hotel room come equipped with tools to help guests unwind.

Stay Well rooms feature access to guided meditation exercises as well as relaxation tips and techniques.

The icing on the cake is the Vitamin C-infused shower.

Protection from Harmful Germs, Allergens

Although we can't always see harmful allergens or germs in our air or water, that doesn't mean they aren't there. That said, Stay Well rooms take a proactive approach to health through the implementation of advanced air and water purification systems.

These features complement the encased bedding and cleaning protocol that reduces guests' exposure to harsh chemicals.

As the wellness movement continues to gain momentum, the transition to a healthier hotel room is likely to become more and more common.

"The growing demand for healthy travel is rapidly increasing, and we have received a tremendous number of requests to open more Stay Well rooms since first debuting the product in Las Vegas," said Delos Founder and CEO Paul Scialla in a statement.

In addition to the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, travelers can experience the Stay Well room at the Charlotte Marriott City Center, Atlanta Marriott Marquis, Richmond Marriott Short Pump, Residence Inn Orlando Lake Nona, Courtyard Orlando Lake Nona and Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina.
