Why Families Should Go To Club Med Ixtapa

A family vacation requires enough to do for all members of the clan, from the diaper-clad to the teens and, of course, any grandparents who go along for the fun.

The beaches at the all-inclusive Club Med Ixtapa are located against the Sierra Madre Mountains in Mexico, making it a beautiful backdrop for a wonderful family adventure.

There are clubs and programs specifically geared to almost every age, starting from four months old. The Baby Club Med program offers activities, meals, nap times and, of course, lots of cuddles. The Petit Club Med, geared to ages 2 to 3 years old, offers a little more movement for the more mobile babies, and a full day of activities awaits the 4 to 10 year old at the Mini Club Med.

Teens and preteens, 11 to 18 years old, can feel all grown up on vacation with their own Juniors Club Med. Here they can choose from a variety of sports and art options that they want to participate in. These include trapeze, beach volleyball, kayaking and more. In the evening, the Juniors fun continues as they enjoy a variety of entertainment, films and shows.  Teens deserve pampering too and the Teen Spa provides a list of beauty treatments they can enjoy.

The under 6 set can participate in basic cooking lessons at Petit Basket. Kids from age 6 through 10 can also partake in a Petit Chef Program where they learn even more culinary skills and then get to enjoy the meals they prepared.

Speaking of mealtime, Club Med Ixtapa property also keeps in mind that a baby requires special items at mealtime, so there is a baby feeding room where you can find everything you need for making meals, including utensils, mixers, sterilizer, microwave, fridge and bottle warmer. There is a baby restaurant on site that offers food adapted to what your child eats. Sirena, another restaurant, also offers kid-friendly meals.

With almost 300 rooms and 15 family suites to choose from, your vacation can have that home away from home feeling. Oceanfront suites offer private access straight to the beach. All of the rooms are equipped with flat screen televisions and Internet access for when you need to relax and check in at home, but it’s almost guaranteed that you will want to spend a great deal of time out of your room and on the grounds and, yes, in the air.

At Club Med Ixtapa, you can fly through the air with the greatest of ease and learn a variety of flying trapeze and circus activities. There are also a wide variety of fun beach activities, including petanque (Bocce Ball), darts, ping-pong, badminton, mini-football, mini-golf and softball for the entire family.

Of course, when parents need a little alone time, the Pyjamas Club provides supervised babysitting. Parents can then head over to the wellness center where they can indulge in body massages, facials and body scrubs. By the time vacation is over, everyone has had a lot of fun and relaxation.
