One of the hardest things to do while on vacation is make sure that the little ones are entertained and the teens have unplugged and are enjoying the trip. Parents want to find a resort that has a wide variety of activities to keep kids of all ages busy while also providing some much-needed R&R for themselves.
At the Velas Resorts in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Maya, the Kids and Teen Clubs offer a wide variety of entertaining activities just for children, teens and parents and then bring the entire clan back together with family fun.

At the family-friendly Grand Velas Riviera Maya, the Kids Club has a menu of options to choose from, starting at 10:30 a.m. and going all the way to 7 p.m., seven days a week. Activities include water balloon fights, sand castle building, stone painting, board games, kid-friendly blackjack, bingo, movies, disco and so much more.
Guests at the Velas Puerto Vallarta also have plenty to do for all ages. Kids aged 5 to 12 enjoy their own swimming pool, age-appropriate movies, storytelling, arts and crafts, board games and Bingo. They learn how to make everything from piñatas to kites and jewelry. There are season activities for the kids too including meeting the Easter bunny and hunting for Easter eggs in April and a visit from Santa at Christmas time. During the summer, there’s an entire list of summer camp activities, including authentic bonfires on the beach.
Teens aged 13 to 18 can hang out in a supervised club where they can dance, sing, and enjoy non-alcoholic beverages at a circular bar, up until midnight. Of course, today’s teens don’t go too far without their video games either and Velas Puerto Vallarta and has an entire area to play Xbox Kinect.
Once they have enjoyed their own fun, families can reunite on the property to enjoy any of the free outdoor activities that include kayaking, snorkeling, bicycle tours, water polo, ping-pong, bocce ball, mixology classes, flag football, darts, treasure hunts, arts and crafts, and sand castle building. Families can also rent catamarans and boats and enjoy some fun on the water together.
If you have already visited Velas Vallarta or Riviera Maya, you may want to give these vacation spots another look. Every year, the staff comes up with new and exciting activities for the entire family to enjoy. Accommodations are family friendly too with two- and three-bedroom accommodations, fully-equipped kitchens, a spacious dining area, separate living area and stocked mini bars in each suite.
