Aeronautical Industry Flocks to England for Air Show

The small town of Farnborough, England, located about 40 miles from London, will welcome the aeronautical industry for the biennial Farnborough International Airshow, CNN reported. 

The event will run July 11-17; however, it will only be open to the general public over the weekend, CNN said. The first five days will be open to corporations only.

Guests will come from all over to check out 99 different types of aircrafts, watch acrobatic demonstrations and see the world’s largest airliner, the Airbus A380, CNN said.

"Over 70% of participants come from overseas, and this year we expect 30% of them to be first-timers," Farnborough International commercial director Amanda Stainer said.

Boeing will celebrate its 100th anniversary on July 15 at the show with a special pavilion called the Boeing Centennial Experience, where visitors can learn about the company’s history.
