On Tuesday, an Alaska Airlines flight from Portland to Anchorage was diverted after a male passenger onboard attempted to kiss a sleeping teenage girl.
According to ABCNews.com, Alaska Airlines Flight 137 was en route from Portland International Airport in Oregon to Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport in Alaska when the pilot of the plane was notified that a 23-year-old man had attempted to kiss a 16-year-old girl who was sleeping in the seat next to him.
The flight was diverted to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport around 2 p.m. local time, and Seattle police were on the scene when the plane landed. Authorities arrested the man and charged him with fourth-degree assault.
The case against the male passenger will be turned over to the King County Prosecutor's Office, but officials have not released the man's name. The teenage girl remained on the plane and completed the flight to Anchorage, landing safely about 3 p.m. local time.
