Airport police in Beijing arrested five passengers on a Hainan Airlines flight after they were involved in a fist fight that resulted in a five-hour-delay.

According to the South China Morning Post, the Hainan Airlines flight was preparing to take off for a flight from Beijing to Xian in China on Saturday night when a fight broke out between several men and women on the plane.

Witnesses onboard the flight said a woman began insulting flight attendants due to a delay when other passengers attempted to calm her down. A male passenger sitting next to the woman attempted to stop her as well, but ended up getting attacked by other passengers, leaving him injured.

The New York Daily News shared an image of the incident on Twitter:

Beijing Capital International Airport police boarded the flight and took five passengers into custody for investigation. The plane finally took off for its flight from Beijing to Xian at 2:50 a.m. local time on Sunday, five hours after the scheduled departure time.

Many of the passengers on the flight who were inconvenienced by the delay have demanded compensation, but Hainan Airlines has yet to respond to the requests.
