Brawl Breaks Out on LA-Bound Flight

An American passenger on an All Nippon Airways flight was arrested Monday after he got into a fight on the plane and choked an airline employee.

According to Japan Times, the 44-year-old male passenger was onboard All Nippon Airways Flight 6, which was preparing to take off for Los Angeles at Narita International Airport, when he reportedly began to act unruly. Reports suggest the man was under the influence of alcohol.

The man began yelling at another passenger and the two men came to blows, according to another person on the plane who shared details of the incident on Twitter:

So, 10 minutes before take off a passenger starts a huge fight in his row. I get in between him and flight attendants, but he won't 1v1 me.

As of now and after speaking with the other passengers the motive for why he did this is still UNKNOWN. None of us have any idea why at all.

For the record ANA staff and passengers handled the situation with grace and respect. They did the best they could to diffuse the situation.

Crew members worked hard to diffuse the situation, but the man reportedly struck a woman and choked an airline employee as he was leaving the airplane. Police on the scene arrested the man and took him into custody following the assaults.

The flight had already been delayed due to unstable weather conditions, but it finally departed an hour and 40 minutes behind schedule.
