Bullfighter, Bull Runner Killed in Spain, Others Injured

A professional bullfighter and a man participating in a bull run both died Saturday in Spain, Reuters reported. Two more men were gored by the massive creatures at Saturday’s world-renowned Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain. 

Victor Barrio, 29, is the first Spanish bullfighter to die in a ring since the turn of the century, Reuters said.

Barrio was competing in a bull fight in the town of Teruel when a bull’s horn pierced his chest on live TV, according to Reuters.

Meanwhile, a 28-year-old Spanish man was killed in a bull run in the village of Pedreguer, the news agency reported. The man was trying to help another runner when the bull’s horn pierced his lung and heart.

In Saturday’s Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, two men were gored by bulls, one in the arm and the other in the chest, according to Reuters. Twelve others experienced minor injuries.
