A passenger on a China Southern Airlines is in serious trouble after he allegedly opened an emergency door to get some air.
According to Stuff.co.nz, the China Southern Airlines flight was getting ready to depart from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport in Sichuan, China, en route to Urumqi Diwopu International Airport when the incident occurred.
The passenger who reportedly opened the door told authorities that he was simply trying to get some fresh air. He also told crew members that he thought the door handle was actually a lever to open the plane's windows.
Luckily, the China Southern Airlines plane and its 130 passengers had not taken off at the time of the incident. The official Twitter of AirLive shared images of the plane’s door wide open:
Unbelievably, this is not the first time an incident like this has occurred, as a man on a KLM Airlines flight in 2015 reportedly tried to open a door while the plane was at 30,000 feet in the air. The man told police that he thought the exit was actually a bathroom door.
