Closures And Cancellations At Florida Theme Parks

With Hurricane Matthew starting to impact Florida, several of the Theme Parks have begun to implement operational changes and closures due to the severity of the storm.
Walt Disney World
ALL Walt Disney World Parks, Disney Springs, miniature golf courses and ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex will close Thursday at 5 p.m. and will be closed on Friday. They are expected to reopen on Saturday.
The Thursday night Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom. Affected Guests can call 407-566-4985, option 5 to make alternate plans between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. EDT.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds are closed now through Sunday. The Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue and Mickey’s Backyard BBQ performances for Thursday and Friday are canceled.
The Learn to Surf experience at Typhoon Lagoon is closed on Thursday.
The Spirit of Aloha dinner shows at the Disney Polynesian Village Resort will be canceled on both Thursday and Friday.
Spa Locations including the La Vida Health Club at Disney’s Coronado Springs, Senses and both The Grand Floridan and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and both the Ship Shape Massage Salon and Fitness at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club will all close beginning at Noon Thursday and will remain closed through Saturday.
Characters in Flight will be closed Thursday-Sunday.
Select Weekend Events at the ESPN Wild World of Sports Complex have been canceled. The Disney Cross Country Classic ad Baseball Canada’s Friday and Saturday Ga.m.es and Practices have been canceled. The Baseball Canada 1 p.m. game on Thursday is now at 10 a.m. Thursday morning.
Walt Disney World is reportedly working with guests on cancellations, and waiving the cancellation fees.
Sea World Orlando
SeaWorld Orlando will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, and will be CLOSED on Friday. Sea World Orlando will be open from 10 a.m. – 7p.m. on Saturday, with normal Spooktacular activities from Noon – 7 p.m..
Aquatica will be CLOSED on Thursday and Friday. Aquatica will be open during normal operating hours on Saturday.
Discovery Cove will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, and will be CLOSED on Friday. Discovery Cove will be open during normal operating hours on Saturday.
Universal Orlando will close at 5 p.m. on Thursday including Citywalk. Halloween Horror Nights is cancelled for Thursday and Friday. Normal Operations resume on Saturday.
Gatorland will be closed on Friday.
Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex
The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex will be closed Thursday and Friday. The Visitor Complex is anticipated to reopen Saturday at 9 a.m.
LEGOLAND Florida Resort will operate as scheduled Thursday, Oct. 6, but LEGOLAND Florida Theme Park may close early due to the approach of Hurricane Matthew.
For the safety of all guests and employees, LEGOLAND Florida Theme Park will remain closed Friday, Oct. 7, but LEGOLAND Hotel will be open to admit arriving guests. We expect to operate as scheduled Saturday, Oct. 8, but will continue to monitor the storm’s projected path and will make adjustments as necessary.In the event that a hurricane warning is issued by the National Hurricane Center for the Orlando, Fla., area or a guest’s place of residence within seven days of his or her scheduled arrival date, guests may call in advance to reschedule or cancel a LEGOLAND Hotel booking without any cancellation or change fees. In this case, guests also may reschedule any LEGOLAND Florida Theme Park or LEGOLAND Florida Water Park tickets booked through LEGOLAND directly, with no additional fees. The event was supposed to take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Due to Hurricane Matthew, the weekend has been cancelled.
Busch Gardens Tampa
Currently Busch Gardens is scheduled to be open as usual on Thursday and Friday.
The Coca-Cola Orlando Eye
The Coca-Cola Orlando Eye will be closed until weather conditions improve and it is safe to begin operations again.
Wet n’ Wild
Wet n’ Wild will close at 2 p.m. on Thursday. Will remain closed on Friday and will reopen on Saturday.
