Couple Sleeps Through Hotel Room Break-In

It's a hotel guest's worst nightmare and unfortunately it came true for one couple recently staying at a hotel in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

THV 11 reported the unidentified couple was traveling from Nashville, Tennessee to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma when the troubling incident occurred at a Quality Inn & Suites hotel.

Hotel cameras captured a man pushing on hotel room doors in the couple's hallway before finally gaining access to the their room.

In just a few minutes the suspect was able to steal the couple's cash, debit and credit cards, cell phone, tablet, jewelry and their legally-owned revolver and permit to carry.

Incredibly, the couple slept through the entire incident.

"I don't think I got the full concept of it until I saw what had happened on the hotel camera," the wife told THV 11 in a telephone conversation.

The hotel's manager told THV11 that the suspect entered the building through one of the side doors, which are typically left open by guests stepping outside to smoke.

As far as how the person was able to gain access to the couple's room, they told THV11 that they left the chain lock off the door because the door locked automatically as is the case in most hotels.

"We will definitely lock the latch bolt, absolutely."

Authorities are still seeking the suspect and no arrests have been made, THV 11 reported.

While undoubtedly disturbing, the harrowing ordeal could certainly have turned out worse and the majority of guests and their belongings are safe and sound inside of their hotel room.
