On Monday, an elderly man aboard an Emirates flight from the United Arab Emirates to England died during the journey.
According to Emirates247.com, Emirates Flight EK21 was en route from Dubai International Airport to Manchester Airport when the health of one of the passengers began to decline. Local media reported the elderly man was already ill, and he passed away before the plane could safely land in Manchester.
The Emirates flight left from Dubai at 3 a.m. local time and landed in Manchester at 7:50 a.m. local time. The Greater Manchester Police were on the scene when the plane landed and ordered all of the other passengers off the flight before removing the deceased man’s body from the aircraft.
Local police have ruled out any form of foul play in the elderly man’s death. No cause of death has been released, but Emirates released a statement about the incident:
“Emirates can confirm that a passenger on board today’s Emirates flight EK21 from Dubai to Manchester passed away during the flight,” the airline said. “Emirates expresses its condolences to the family.”
