Government officials announced Wednesday that the ban on laptops and other large electronic devices in the cabins of flights from Dubai and Istanbul bound for the United States has been lifted for Emirates and Turkish Airlines.
According to Reuters.com, Emirates and Turkish Airlines told customers that they would once again be allowed to take their laptops into the cabin during flights to the U.S., but Emirates officials said they were already forced to cut flights to five U.S. cities due to the previous restrictions.
Turkish Airlines CEO Bilal Eksi also said that the airline expects the ban to be lifted on flights to England soon. The decision to eliminate the restrictions on U.S.-bound flights came after security officials inspected Istanbul's Ataturk Airport Tuesday.
Wednesday's decision comes just days after the government lifted the ban on Etihad Airways' flights to the U.S. from Abu Dhabi International Airport after the facility met the new security measures put forth by the U.S. government.

In addition, Saudi Arabia Airlines officials expect the ban to be lifted from Jeddah and Riyadh by July 19.
The ban on laptops and larger electronics went into effect during March and was imposed at 10 airports in eight countries, including Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and Turkey.
