It appears that the new President's Muslim travel ban is headed to the country's highest court.
The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Thursday to deny the reinstatement of Donald Trump's executive order issued Jan. 27 that barred citizens from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the U.S.
This latest turn of events paves the way to a U.S. Supreme Court battle. The appeals court refused to reverse a lower-court ruling that suspended the ban, calling it unconstitutional. The lower-court ruling from U.S. District Judge James Robart in Seattle forced the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to allow previously barred travelers to enter the U.S.

The travel ban bars citizens of Iraq, Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen from traveling to the U.S. for 90 days due to concerns over terrorism. It bars Syrian refugees for 120 days.
The ban has been wreaking havoc on travel to the U.S. and created chaos in airports around the country when it was announced on Jan. 27. The American Society of Travel Agents said earlier this week that the travel ban has already had a negative impact on travel worldwide.
