Flight Turns Back After Passenger Lights Up

A United Airlines flight from Denver to Boston was forced to turn around and land back at Denver International on Friday night after a passenger refused to stop smoking.

There are conflicting reports as to the circumstances, although the facts remain the same - the flight turned around about 30 minutes after takeoff and returned to Denver, and an economy class passenger was smoking.

A Fox affiliate in Boston reported that the man was caught smoking in the bathroom after initially complaining he was ill.

A CBS affiliate in Denver reported that the man was caught smoking yet refused repeated requests to stop, prompting the pilot to turn around and land back at DIA.

All passengers were re-booked on flights that went out on Saturday.
