Regardless of where you are or what's going on in the world, a toilet is supposed to provide respite. So, few things are scarier than the prospect of a toilet catching fire, which was the case at a hotel in Nuremburg, Germany over the weekend.
At least four people were hospitalized for smoke inhalation when a toilet inside of the hotel caught fire.
The Local reported firefighters were called to the hotel Sunday night after the toilet apparently burst into flames. The cause of the fire, which remains unknown, occurred on the first floor of the hotel.
The unidentified hotel was housing just 14 guests at the time.
Nearly 40 emergency workers responded to the fire, rescuing a total of three people from the flames using ladders.
Oddly enough, the bizarre incident occurred just two weeks after a toilet inside of an Amberg nightclub was exploded by a drunk guest using a firecracker. Amberg is approximately an hour east of Nuremberg.
