The Girl Guides of Canada surely do love your country, but they will be staying away for a while, if you don't mind.
NBC News reports the organization, best described as the Canadian equivalent of America's Girl Scouts, has decided to hold off on all travel into the United States for the foreseeable future.
The reason is similar to why so many other potential visitors are apparently staying home and changing itineraries: There is an immense level of uncertainty as to who will get into the America after a travel ban sequel was announced.
The Girl Guides organization posted the following statement online: "At Girl Guides of Canada, we know our members value the safe, inclusive and accepting space that Guiding provides. These values are reflected in all we do, including the Girl Guide travel experiences we offer girls and women. While the United States is a frequent destination for Guiding trips, the ability of all our members to equally enter this country is currently uncertain."

The statement continues: "As such, Girl Guides of Canada will not be approving any new travel to the United States until further notice. This includes both trips that are over or under 72-hours and any travel that includes a connecting flight through an American airport. In respect of this decision, the nationally-sponsored trip this summer to a camp in California has been changed to an alternate destination."
CBC.ca spoke with Sarah Kiriliuk, national manager of marketing and communications for the Girl Guides of Canada.
Kiriliuk explained the move further: "We have lots of girls across the country that travel every year overseas and to the U.S. We really wanted to make sure that no girl gets left behind. We wanted to make sure there was zero risk."
There has been a recent precedent for Canadians running into roadblocks upon attempting entry into the United States: We previously reported on Canadian citizen Fadwa Alaoui not being allowed into the very country she had visited myriad times before.
Thus, for the Girl Guides, it's better safe than miserable. We can only imagine the scene of a child or parent not being allowed into America, ruining what may have otherwise been a dream trip.
