No one looks forward to summer ending. With Labor Day just around the corner, Expedia has released the most popular Labor Day destinations just in time to help you plan the season's final hurrah.

New York City and Las Vegas top the list as the most popular in the country this year, ranking one and two respectively. Rounding out the top five are Los Angeles, Orlando, Chicago, Seattle and San Francisco.

About 25 percent of Americans plan to get out of town for the holiday the survey revealed, and North American cities appear to be the top choices overall.

"Just because a destination is in-demand doesn't necessarily mean travelers will pay a premium," Expedia's Sarah Gavin, vice president of global communications, said in a statement.

"Places like London are over 35 percent more popular this year, but roughly 15 percent less expensive. And when you combine that with the hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars you can save when you bundle your flight and hotel, that's an incredible value."

Las Vegas is another example of a destination that's more popular this year than last but has not seen a corresponding increase in prices. Sin City is twice as popular compared to 2016 yet 10 percent cheaper.

Beyond North America, interest in Reykjavik has nearly doubled and is around 25 percent cheaper this August compared to last, according to Expedia. Paris and Barcelona are also experiencing rising demand but offer significant deals for travelers, with prices down about 15 percent.

Roadside services company AAA also recently released its Labor Day predictions, according to Cars.com.

Among the top driving destinations for travelers this Labor Day will be Orlando, Florida; Las Vegas, Nevada (there it is again); Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; San Francisco, and Los Angeles, California. Rounding out the top ten on the AAA list are San Diego, California; New York, New York; Nashville, Tennessee; Denver, Colorado; and Seattle, Washington.

AAA has not yet released data regarding the number of drivers expected to hit the road for Labor Day weekend, but if it's anything like Memorial Day 2017, things could get historic.
