Police in London are treating an explosion on a packed commuter train Friday as a terror attack.
According to NBCNews.com, a home-made bomb exploded inside a train car at Parsons Green underground station in West London at around 8.20 a.m. local time. While some of the passengers were burnt by the explosion, others were injured in a stampede to escape.
The National Health Service revealed 22 people had to be transferred to local hospitals, but none of the injuries appeared to be life threatening.
Britain's top counter-terrorism officer Mark Rowley told local media the investigation was ongoing and wouldn't reveal if the authorities knew who was responsible. According to ABCNews.com, there is a manhunt underway in London for a suspect.
Pictures from the scene show what appears to be a white bucket on fire inside one of the train cars, which is believed to be connected to the explosion.

"I was on second carriage from the back. I just heard a kind of whoosh," eyewitness Ola Fayankinnu told Reuters.com. "I looked up and saw the whole carriage engulfed in flames making its way toward me. There were phones, hats, bags all over the place and when I looked back I saw a bag with flames."
United States President Donald Trump released a comment on the attack via Twitter.
Friday's attack was the fifth terrorism-related incident in Britain this year.
A terrorist killed four pedestrians on London's Westminster Bridge in March, a suicide bomber killed 22 at a concert in Manchester in May, eight people were killed on the London Bridge in June and another man died during an attack on worshippers near a mosque the same month.
