A 39-year-old man was arrested last week on an Air Canada flight for allegedly sexually assaulting a female passenger while she was sleeping.

According to, Air Canada Flight AC151 was en route from Toronto to Vancouver when the man—a Pakistani national—was seen touching a fellow passenger sexually while she slept near him.

While no further details of the incident were released, Air Canada officials confirmed that a passenger on the flight became unruly, and witnesses saw flight attendants comforting the victim following the incident.

When the plane landed, the Richmond Royal Canadian Mounted Police boarded the flight and escorted the man off and detained him. A full investigation is now underway with the assistance of Air Canada and Vancouver International Airport.

The airline refused to reveal more details about the incident.
