During the final regular-season road trip for the Minnesota Vikings, it was drama off-the-field that made headlines for the team.
According to ESPN, the team's plane skidded off the taxiway after landing safely at Appleton International Airport in Wisconsin, hours before facing the Green Bay Packers.
Nobody was injured, but the snowy conditions caused players, coaches, and staff to be stuck on the plane "for several hours before fire officials at the scene used a truck's extension ladder to help the team off the aircraft."
Vikings safety Anthony Harris documented the scene on his Snapchat account saying one of the plane's tires "sank into the grass after the plane slid off the runway." ESPN's Josina Anderson mentioned the team skidded just around 10 feet.
"The airport did not have portable stairs and boarding bridges could not be used because the plane was 200 yards or so from the terminal," Appleton International Airport director Abe Webber said.

The Vikings eventually made it back to their hotel around 10 PM central time.
