Moroccan Child Dies from Heart Attack During Flight to Italy
Tragedy struck Wednesday when an 11-year-old Moroccan boy died during a Royal Air Maroc flight from Casablanca to Bologna, Italy.
In a report from Morocco World News, the unnamed boy suffered a heart attack during the flight and died on board before medical personnel could save him. The pilot of the flight notified Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport about the dire situation on board and brought the plane in for a landing as soon as was possible.
Once the aircraft landed safely in Italy, doctors and emergency medical technicians tried to resuscitate the young boy for 40 minutes, but he unfortunately did not survive. The report claims the boys suffered from physical deformities and difficulty breathing, which likely caused the heart attack that took his life.
Royal Air Maroc has not released a statement on the incident, but this is not the first time someone has passed away on one of the company’s planes. Morocco World News reported that in June 2014, a 68-year-old man died from a heart attack during a Royal Air Maroc flight from Brussels, Belgium, to Tangier, Morocco.
