Human beings are capable of all sorts of things while sleepwalking, from the frightening to the remarkable.
But it seems falling fast asleep isn't even enough to quell our urge to travel.
This past weekend, a hotel guest in Manchester, England, sporting nothing but his birthday suit, left his hotel room and attempted to hail a cab ride before authorities arrived to shake him from his slumber.
According to the Manchester Evening News, the unidentified man was discovered in the city's central business district around 4 a.m. local time Sunday morning.
"Officers attended and established that the person had been sleeping with no clothes on in a nearby hotel, and had sleepwalked out onto the street," a police source told the Evening News. "Officers covered the person with their jackets to protect what remained of his modesty and accompanied him back to the hotel."
Despite the man's appearance and the timing, authorities ruled out the possibility that it was a streaking stunt.
"Officers were satisfied that it was a case of somnambulism, and not a dare," the police source added.
While undoubtedly embarrassed by the incident, police said the man acknowledged it's humor.
"The person involved was grateful to the officers for their help, saw a funny side to what had happened, and even asked for a selfie with the officers (when he was fully clothed) as a memento of his unusual encounter with GMP."
It's unclear what hotel the man was staying at before checking out in the nude.
