Note Shared on Reddit Claims Sheets at Hotel Weren’t Changed

One of the biggest fears for travelers is the cleanliness of the hotel rooms, and an image shared on Reddit of a note reportedly found in the sheets of a hotel room bed have those fears vindicated.
A note was posted on Reddit by a user that showed a piece of hotel stationery that stated “If you’re reading this, then housekeeping did not change your sheets.” The user claims they were getting into bed when they discovered the paper between the sheets.
While the Reddit user did not share details of the ordeal, the hotel stationary was from a Courtyard Marriott hotel. There are questions about whether the note was truly found in the sheets or if it was a hoax, though.
Twitter user Ecaterina Paun shared an image of the note allegedly found in the hotel sheets:
As horrifying as the image of the note is to travelers, the Reddit thread became a confessional for people who faced similar terrifying situations at hotels. Some of the incidents are too disgusting to ever share on TravelPulse, but here are a few of the most haunting responses on Reddit:
“My husband found a pair of used underwear and a couple bottles of nips in the bed side table. They didn't believe us.”
“I walked into a hotel room once with an unmade bed, a half-drunk case of Busch [beer] under the sink, damp towels everywhere and the TV was on. It wasn’t even the wrong room. Housekeeping just didn’t even go in that day.”
“When I was a housekeeping manager I would go into the vacant rooms before our maids got there and would make a small mark on the sheets with a washable marker someplace not very visible. Caught and fired a lot of people for that stuff. It's more common than you think, unfortunately.”
“A few years ago I and a coworker stayed in a room for a month during some out-of-state training. At the end of the month we are packing everything up and take the sheets off of the beds just to be sure we aren't missing anything. A partial denture with four false teeth falls out of his sheets.”
