A male passenger on an Emirates flight Sunday from Dubai to London had to be restrained by an off-duty police officer after he reportedly physically attacked several members of the flight crew.

According to Joseph Curtis of the Daily Mail, the assailant was a 30-year-old Dutch passenger who allegedly attacked three flight attendants and head butted another before a police officer onboard jumped into action and brought the man to the floor.

Emirates Flight EK005 was en route to London’s Heathrow International Airport when the incident took place, and the plane eventually managed to land safely at its destination at around 8 p.m. local time.

Upon touching down in England, authorities from the Heathrow Police Station were on the scene to meet the plane and immediately took the disruptive man into custody for questioning.

Representatives for the Heathrow police revealed that officials investigating the incident do not believe it was related to terrorism.

A passenger on the flight named Dr Farah Jameel told the Daily Mail about the ordeal:

“The guy was pinned down and they had tied him up. His hands, legs, and even someone holding his head. They even at one point put a surgical face mask on him, I guess to try to stop him biting them. They were wearing gloves as well. It was the second time he had kicked off. There was a police officer on the flight and he put him in a headlock.”
