On Saturday, a passenger plane that had just landed in Serbia was found to have two missiles with explosive warheads scheduled to be delivered to the United States in the cargo area.

According to The Associated Press, Serbian authorities are now investigating how the package containing two guided armor-piercing missiles found their way onto an Air Serbia flight from Beirut, Lebanon, to Belgrade, Serbia.

After the plane landed in Serbia, security teams combed the plane, and that’s when a bomb-sniffing dog was alerted to a strange odor in the cargo hold. Upon further investigation, the two missiles were discovered.

Media reports indicate that the weapons were found to be American-made AGM-114 Hellfire missiles, and the address on the package was in Portland, Oregon. Serbian authorities have launched a full investigation, and the airline is lending its full support, saying, “Security and safety are the main priorities for Air Serbia.”
