On Sunday, a United Airlines plane slid off a runway at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago due to snowy conditions at the facility.
According to NBC Chicago, United Airlines Flight No. 441 had just landed at O'Hare at around 1:10 a.m. local time after a journey from Orlando International Airport when it slid off the taxiway next to the runway.
Chicago Police and airline officials said the plane was being taxied off the runway when one of the aircraft's tires went off the pavement and became stuck in the snowy grass. A spokesperson for United Airlines said that no injuries were reported during the incident.
The passengers on the flight were deplaned and transported by bus to the terminal.
Snow has been a huge problem in Chicago-and across the entire Midwest-over the last week. At O'Hare International Airport, the National Weather Service reported 3.4 inches of snow had fallen Saturday and Sunday.
The United Airlines plane sliding off the runway followed several hundred flight delays and cancellations at both O'Hare and Chicago Midway International Airport since Thursday due to winter storms.
