On Saturday, the Princess Cruises ship Sea Princess was forced to alter its itinerary due to severe weather warnings near Western Australia.
According to Cruise Critic, the Sea Princess cruise ship is currently in the midst of a 104-night world voyage, and was forced to dock in Esperance, Australia, in order to allow the storm to pass before taking sail once again.
With the change in itinerary, the Sea Princess vessel will now arrive in Fremantle, Australia, on Tuesday, May 24, just a day after it was originally scheduled to visit the city. In order to make up for the lost time, Princess Cruises’ officials announced the ship will skip its stop in Colombo, Sri Lanka, which was scheduled for May 30.
Instead of stopping in Sri Lanka, the Sea Princess will travel for 10 days to its next destination, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where it will dock on June 4. Passengers have been notified about the changes, but there has been no word about the cruise line offering compensation, according to Cruise Critic.
