Somali intelligence officials say two airport employees were seen Tuesday with a laptop they believe was carrying the bomb that exploded later that day on Daallo Airlines Flight 3159, CNN reported.
Officials released a video Sunday that shows one of the employees handing the laptop to the other, CNN said. The employees are then seen giving the laptop to the one passenger on the plane who was killed in the explosion, according to Abdisalam Aato, a spokesman for the Somali prime minister.
Both employees have been arrested, CNN reported.
The one person who died in the explosion has been identified as Abdullahi Abdisalam Borleh and is suspected of using the computer to conceal the bomb, according to CNN.
A source familiar with the investigation told CNN that Borleh knew exactly what he was doing. Considering the spot where Borleh sat, if the airplane had reached cruising altitude, the blast probably would have set off a second explosion in the fuel tank. However, the bomb went off at a lower altitude, between 12,000 and 14,000 feet, resulting in his lone death and two injuries.
