Ugly Americans: It’s a term that has come to comprise a small(?) subset of otherwise awesome tourists.
However, those who fall into the dreaded bucket are often entitled, clueless and often times horrible.
Such was the case for rabble rousers in Cancun, Mexico, on the other side of any would-be wall established by the Donald Trump administration. This fact was completely lost on said spring breakers who, according to The Yucatan Times (h/t Chron.com), began chanting “Build that wall.”
The anecdote comes by way of Peruvian Anaximandro Amable who was with his wife during a family show portion of the cruise he was enjoying:
“Today I was with Suly, my wife (who is a native of Mexico), watching an entertainment show off the coast of Cancun aboard a boat, and at the end of the show, a flock of Americans (maybe under the influence of alcohol, or maybe not), began to sing the infamous ‘Build that wall’ chant louder and louder.”

The report continues in a manner that should have Americans feeling quite ashamed: “Several Mexican tourists on board the ship expressed their annoyance, but the Americans did not stop at all and continued singing the racist hymn.”
If the irony escapes you, this tweet explains that basic geography goes out the door when you are several shots deep.
Meanwhile, there continues to be some conjecture as to what an actual wall might cost Americans if it does indeed go up. The Associated Press reports estimates range from $12 billion to $21 billion.
At that price, we hope it filters the idiots from leaving this country to embarrass us once again.
