Two Air Algeria pilots have been suspended after a video surfaced of them allowing a 10-year-old passenger into the cockpit during a flight and permitting him to manipulate the controls.
According to the Daily Express, the Air Algeria flight was traveling from Algiers Houari Boumediene International Airport to Setif Regional Airport in Algeria when the boy in a captain's outfit was brought into the cockpit.
Reports claim the boy was an orphan and the flight crew was fulfilling his dream of piloting with the help of a local organization. The pilots showed him the outside of the plane before takeoff, the inside of the aircraft once it was in the air and eventually allowed him to sit in the captain's seat, which is a violation of civil aviation regulations.

The whole event was filmed by a television crew for a documentary.

While it is unclear how many passengers were onboard the plane at the time of the incident, the video clearly shows the young boy taking control of the aircraft for a short time under the guidance of both pilots.
When the footage made it to the public, officials from Air Algeria suspended the two pilots. Aviation authorities launched a formal investigation into the incident and what role the airline played in the situation.
