On Monday, the Orlando Fire Department announced that a suspicious package was discovered at Universal CityWalk.
UPDATE: 8:30 a.m. ET 7/12/2016
According to WESH.com, the suspicious item was found in a Universal Orlando Resort parking garage Monday during a routine security patrol. After about an hour of investigating the package, it was determined there was no threat and the garage was reopened.
Universal CityWalk was not fully evacuated, but the crowd of guests that gathered at the entrance to watch police investigate was dispersed. Operations at the Universal theme parks were not disrupted.

According to WESH.com, the suspicious package caused the area adjacent to the theme parks to be evacuated as multiple fire units investigated the scene.
In a statement to WESH, Universal officials said, "Our canine noticed something on a routine patrol; out of an abundance of caution, we have notified OPD and OFD and are allowing them to work through this - while we take care of our guests."
