After issuing a warning last week, the Trump Hotel Collection officially confirmed Monday that a security breach was discovered in their systems related to purchases made at the company’s hotels.
According to Trump Hotel’s official website, customers who made purchases at properties owned by the company between May 19, 2014, and June 2, 2015, may be at risk due to unauthorized malware access at front-desk computers and payment card terminals.
Upon finding the breach, Trump contacted the FBI and financial institutions, and hired an independent forensic investigator. There was no evidence discovered that any customer information was removed from the systems.
The Trump properties impacted by the security breach include Trump SoHo New York, Trump National Doral, Trump International New York, Trump International Chicago, Trump International Waikiki, Trump International Hotel & Tower Las Vegas and Trump International Toronto.
The malware was immediately removed from the system and the company is now updating security measures to ensure something like this doesn’t happen again.
In addition, Trump is also offering customers affected by the breach one year of complimentary identity protection services through Experian. Those with questions or looking to enroll in the free protection service can call 877-803-8586.
