On Monday, a man was arrested for allegedly attempting to open the rear door of an airplane during an Alaska Airlines flight.
According to ABCNews.com, the Alaska Airlines flight was en route from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City to Seattle–Tacoma International Airport when the plane called for an emergency landing in Minneapolis.
The unidentified male passenger became unruly and then attempted to open a door at the rear of the Boeing 737. Alaska Airlines spokeswoman Halley Knigge said it would’ve been impossible for the man to open the door due to the pressure difference.
CBS This Morning shared video of the man being arrested on YouTube:
The flight crew attempted to calm the man down, but after his effort to open the door, the captain called for the emergency landing. When the Alaska Airlines flight touched down at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport at around 9:45 a.m. local time, police boarded the plane and arrested the man.
Once the man was removed, the flight continued to Seattle, where it landed at 1 p.m. local time.
