It turns out the miraculous evacuation of 300 passengers and crew from the Emirates Airlines plane before it exploded on a Dubai runway was just that - a chaotic miracle and not nearly as seamless as observers first thought.
A video has emerged showing the terrifying moments after the plane crash-landed on Wednesday.
Officials said the flight crew did a fantastic job of getting 282 passengers and 18 crew members off the plane and onto the tarmac in 90 seconds. Ironically, the video is 84 seconds.
But as good a job as the trained crew did, the video shows several passengers who impeded the process by opening overhead bins and grabbing luggage as the cabin fills with smoke - all while the crew is screaming to leave everything behind and jump on the slides.
A voice is heard shouting, "Leave everything, leave the bags, jump on the slide! Leave the bags, we'll take them."
Officials are still unsure of what happened with the Boeing 777-300 but speculation has turned to the landing gear.
"The landing went very wrong," former Spring Valley, N.Y. resident Jerin George, 22, told LoHud.com. "From where I was sitting, there was smoke outside of the window. And eventually there was smoke coming out in front of the seats, and the left and right side (of the cabin). It was terrifying. It was nothing like we expected, and it was very surprising and shocking. There were kids crying and parents praying."
