In the wake of the terror attacks on an Orlando night club early Sunday morning, Allianz Travel Insurance is looking to help customers who have been impacted by the tragedy.
In addition to sending their sympathies to those impacted by the horrible events, Allianz announced that customers who purchased their travel insurance policy prior to Monday may be eligible for coverage under their trip cancellation or trip interruption benefits as a result of the attack.
Allianz is encouraging customers who have scheduled a trip to Orlando in the next 30 days to review their travel insurance policy to determine what coverage they have in relation to terrorism at their destination. Allianz Travel Insurance provides coverage for terrorist events in many of its insurance packages.
For customers who are covered by the terrorist events coverage, they will be permitted to cancel their trip and may receive payment for their non-refundable trip costs if eligible. On the other hand, customers in Orlando who wish to end their trip early may be eligible for reimbursement for their unused prepaid expenses and cover additional transportation costs for them to get home early.
Allianz customers have been asked to review their policy to find out exactly what is covered by their plan, and if they need help, they also have the chance to call Allianz’s offices for updates and questions 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
In addition to the tips shared above, Allianz Travel Insurance also provided additional advice for customers, courtesy of the company’s official website:
