AAA Elects Its First-Ever Canadian as Board Chairman
AAA, the non-profit federation of North American motor clubs whose holdings include 1,100 travel agencies in North America, elected Don Main as chairman of its board.
Main, who is the first Canadian to serve as chairman of AAA’s board, is the past chairman of the Canadian Automobile Association (CAA).
He will play a key role in decisions related to all areas of AAA’s business, including travel, automotive, insurance and financial services.
“Don Main has been an integral part in maintaining AAA’s position of leadership in the automotive industry over the past decade, and in his role as chairman, he will ensure we maintain that position to enhance the power of the AAA brand and the relevance of AAA’s offerings,” said Marshall Doney, president of AAA.
Main was elected chairman during AAA’s 112th annual meeting in Orlando.
Main, who is president of Main Group, Inc., a holding company with interests in a variety of retail entities, was chairman of CAA Manitoba from 1996 to 1999 and has served as its director since 1991. In 2006, he was elected to the AAA board in 2006. From 2012 to 2013 he served as AAA secretary and from 2013 to 2014 as vice chair.
