Hyatt Regency Austin Announces Ted Hill as New Executive Chef

Hyatt Regency Austin, located on the shores of Lady Bird Lake in downtown Austin, has hired Ted Hill as its new executive chef.  Chef Ted joins the hotel from Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa where he served as executive sous chef. As executive chef, Ted will oversee all of the culinary operations at Hyatt Regency Austin including banquets and catering, the hotel’s two restaurants Southwest Bistro and Marker 10, and the sushi bar.

Hill has more than 16 years of experience in the restaurant and food industry.  He began his career with Hyatt Corporation 11 years ago at Hyatt Regency Irvine, where he held various positions from prep cook to chef de cuisine for the property.  Chef Ted graduated from Le Cordon Bleu School of Culinary Arts in Los Angeles. 

Boston Park Plaza Appoints Jonathan Crellin As Managing Director

Boston Park Plaza announces the appointment of hospitality veteran Jonathan Crellin to the position of managing director. In this role, Crellin will draw on nearly 30 years of experience in the luxury hotel industry and assume leadership of the historic property known as “Boston’s Most Beloved Hotel.” Most recently, Crellin held the roles of Managing Director and General Manager at the Forbes Five-Star Boston Harbor Hotel, and served as Managing Director of the Boston-based hospitality consulting and asset management firm, Whetstone Partners, LLC.  Prior to this, Crellin was with Fairmont Hamilton Princess in Bermuda, where the property’s AAA Four Diamond rating was restored for the first time in 15 years.  In 1996, he was also tapped by Boston’s Fairmont Copley Plaza, first to serve as the Director of Sales and Marketing and Hotel Manager, and then promoted to General Manager in 2003. During his time at the Fairmont Copley Plaza, he played an essential role in repositioning the hotel as an iconic luxury property in a competitive market.

W San Francisco Appoints Gabriele Originario as Director of Beverage & Food

W San Francisco is pleased to announce the appointment of Gabriele Originario as director of beverage & food. With nearly 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Originario will oversee operations for W San Francisco’s acclaimed beverage and food program, including the hotel’s signature TRACE restaurant, dedicated to socially responsible food created from locally sourced and sustainable ingredients, Upstairs Bar & Lounge, a dynamic lounge fuses signature cocktails with vibrant design, and The Living Room Bar, a chic hangout that couples craft cocktails with dynamic décor and electric beats spun by a live DJ.

Over the years, Originario has worked with renowned chefs and sommeliers, including Thomas Keller, Larry Stone, Gaston Acurio and Hubert Keller, providing an invaluable and inspiring foundation for his career. Prior to joining W San Francisco, Originario held the title of director of operations at Emporio Rulli’s, a beloved artisan bakery in downtown San Francisco and general manager of La Mar, where he developed, implemented and maintained exceptional customer service standards. Originally from Rome, Italy, Originario made his way to the U.S. bringing along a passion for wine, shoes and fitness.

The Beverly Hilton Announces New Executive Chef Alberico Nunziata

The Beverly Hilton is pleased to announce the appointment of Chef Alberico Nunziata as executive chef. Nunziata will be responsible for overseeing the menus and staff of CIRCA 55, in addition to banquet operations, in-room dining and menus for the hotel’s high-profile events and galas, including the Golden Globe Awards Show, Oscar Nominee Luncheon, Pre-Grammy Gala and the Milken Institute’s Global Conference.

Prior to joining The Beverly Hilton, Nunziata most recently acted as Executive Chef at Hotel Casa del Mar overseeing Catch restaurant and Terraza Lounge. Originally from Sorrento, Italy, Nunziata also spent 10 years cooking for the general manager of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the Italian Prime Minister.

Lisa Boolootian Is Appointed As Director Of Operations Of The Ranch Malibu And The Ranch 4.0

The Ranch has announced the appointment of Lisa Boolootian as director of operations of the brand’s acclaimed seven-day and four-day fitness and wellness programs, The Ranch Malibu and The Ranch 4.0. In this role, Lisa will oversee the daily operations of both retreats including supervising and directing all department heads, assisting in management planning, organizing, staffing and directing of activities, creating and establishing budgets, and acting as the head of human resources. Lisa most recently served as The Ranch Malibu’s program manager. 

Lisa has more than 15 year’s expertise in general management in the entertainment industry, serving as the Director of Operations and Producer for post-production facilities as well as a rater for the MPAA. Through her roles, Lisa has demonstrated proven leadership, streamlining communication between departments to aid in client satisfaction.  Her most recent role as The Ranch Malibu’s Program Manager gives her an innate understanding of the daily needs of both The Ranch team and guests at each program. 

21c Museum Hotels Appoints Michael Dunbar General Manager of Cincinnati Property

21c Museum Hotels is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Dunbar to the position of general manager of 21c Museum Hotel Cincinnati. Dunbar joins the 21c team with nearly 20 years of hospitality experience with both branded luxury and independent boutique properties. In his new role, Dunbar will be responsible for overseeing all hotel operations, sales, and community and guest relations.

Dunbar has extensive experience in hotel operations and a track record of ensuring excellent guest service. Most recently, he served as General Manager of Dream Hotel Group’s property, Dream Midtown. There, he oversaw a property renovation and improved guest experience by a redefining of a culture of service.

Dunbar began his career with Starwood Hotels and Resorts, working for the W brand, and served on the opening team for a number of W properties in New York and California. His past experience also includes management roles at Denihan Hospitality Group’s boutique property, The Surrey.
