Loews Hotels Names Christine Lawson Senior Vice President Of Loews Sales Organization
Loews Hotels has announced the appointment of Christine Lawson as senior vice president of Loews Sales Organization. A sales enthusiast, innovator and action-oriented executive with decades of experience and success in hotel management, Lawson will oversee all aspects of Sales for Loews Hotels & Resorts, Loews Regency Hotels and the OE Collection. Her appointment is part of Loews Hotels' ongoing effort of strategically building and expanding the company.
Lawson arrived at Loews Hotels after a 20 plus-year tenure with Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. While at Kimpton she advanced through multiple roles and promotions in Sales & Marketing, culminating to her most recent position as Senior Vice President of Sales & Catering. Lawson was responsible for overseeing an $800 million portfolio, a 14-member corporate leadership team, and 250 field managers. She had remarkable success at growing Kimpton's portfolio, revenues and market share, including providing sales, marketing and launch leadership for 55 new hotels.
Hyatt Announces New Global Leadership For Fast-Growing Select Service And Franchise Businesses
Hyatt Hotels Corporation today announced that Hyatt has appointed its longtime executive Jim Chu to the newly created position of global head of select service and franchise strategy, designed to strengthen and support the continued growth of the Hyatt Place and Hyatt House brands. In addition, Hyatt announced Susan Santiago has been selected as senior vice president, global select service and franchise operations. She will report to Chu.
Since joining Hyatt more than a decade ago, Chu has held several leadership positions in roles that work with franchisees and third-party owners. Prior to Hyatt, Chu served in various roles with Wyndham International, including general manager, regional vice president of sales and senior vice president of business development.
Santiago’s Hyatt career spans more than 20 years, beginning at Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay. She worked her way through an ascending series of food and beverage positions at Hyatt hotels around the country before serving in general manager roles in Key West, Aruba and Los Angeles. In addition, Santiago held leadership roles at the corporate office, overseeing food and beverage operations in the Americas and, most recently, all regional operations.
Hyatt Regency Austin Hires New Director of Finance
Hyatt Regency Austin, located on the shores of Lady Bird Lake in downtown Austin, has announced Amber Arndt as its new director of finance. Arndt joins Hyatt Regency Austin from Hyatt Regency Maui where she was assistant director of finance.
Arndt has worked with Hyatt Corporation for 15 years. She began her career at Hyatt Regency La Jolla as an accounts payable clerk. She has experience working at nine different Hyatt properties and has held a variety of positions including income auditor, staff accountant, and more. Arndt graduated from the University of Phoenix in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in Finance.
Time Hotels Announces Kanvar Singh's Promotion to Area Managing Director
Kanvar Singh has been promoted to area managing director of Time Hotels. In this role, he is responsible for the day-to-day management of The Time New York and The Time Nyack, two properties part of the esteemed Dream Hotel Group.
Singh began his career with Dream Hotel Group as Front Desk Agent at The Time New York in 2002. He quickly rose from the ranks to become one of the youngest GMs in the city at Night Theater District in 2008, overseeing daily operations for the hotel and its food & beverage venues. Under his leadership, Night was voted “the sexiest hotel in America” by TripAdvisor and won multiple service awards from Booking.com, TripAdvisor and Agoda. In 2010, Singh returned to The Time New York as General Manager, managing both The Time and Night properties for over a year before shifting his focus to The Time New York exclusively in 2011.
Singh was an integral player in The Time New York’s $20 million renovation and redesign by Rockwell Group in 2015, and, most recently, served as interim General Manager of The Time Nyack, providing guidance and support to the property team following the hotel opening in mid-2016.
Dream Hotel Group Appoints Kevin Rohani As Vice President Of Development
Renowned hotel brand and management company Dream Hotel Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Rohani as vice president of development. Rohani brings over a decade of experience in portfolio expansion and expertise in hotels, restaurants and nightlife to Dream Hotel Group. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the development of new projects and sourcing new deals globally.
Rohani began his hospitality career with sbe Hotel Group, where he focused on hotel operations and development. It was there that he gained invaluable experience working with existing properties such as The Redbury Hotel in Hollywood, SLS Hotel Beverly Hills and Four Points by Sheraton LAX. Rohani was integral to the closing of the 1600-key Sahara Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, as well as the opening of both SLS Las Vegas Hotel & Casino and SLS Hotel South Beach.
