Industry Expert Grigelevich Tapped for Director of Sales and Marketing Role at Ames Boston Hotel
Ames Boston Hotel, a luxurious boutique property nestled in the heart of Boston’s historic downtown, is pleased to announce the appointment of distinguished industry leader Scott Grigelevich to the position of director of sales and marketing. Grigelevich joined the Ames Boston Hotel team in January 2016 and continues to oversee its transition to Boston’s first Curio, a Collection by Hilton.
Previously, Grigelevich served as the director of sales and marketing at the iconic Lenox Hotel in Boston’s bustling Back Bay neighborhood. He managed all sales and marketing initiatives for the privately-owned boutique hotel and earned an industry-wide reputation for delivering exceptional growth and tangible results. During his tenure, Lenox Hotel underwent a $55 million renovation project, was ranked #1 on TripAdvisor for 18 consecutive months, and achieved a coveted “World’s Best” ranking by Travel + Leisure magazine. Prior to his role at The Lenox Hotel, Grigelevich performed a series of operation, guest-service, sales, and management-oriented roles at luxurious boutique hotels in Greater Boston, including The Charles Hotel, Nine Zero, and the iconic XV Beacon Hotel.
Hyatt Regency Austin Hires New Marketing Manager
Hyatt Regency Austin, located on the shores of Lady Bird Lake in downtown Austin, has hired Kressa Olguin as its new marketing manager. Olguin joins the property from Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa where she was a group sales manager. Olguin has worked with Hyatt Corporation for nearly 10 years. She began her career with the company working at Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport, and has held a variety of positions from front office manager and administrative assistant to leisure sales manager.
Montage Hotels & Resorts Names Romero-Peri As Director Of Sales & Marketing At Montage Los Cabos
Montage Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of Cristina Romero-Peri as director of sales & marketing at Montage Los Cabos scheduled to open in 2018. A talented hospitality professional with extensive experience in Latin America and Mexico, Romero-Peri will oversee all sales and marketing efforts for the luxury hotel collection's first international address, including all group and leisure sales activities.
Romero-Peri brings over 18 years of sales and marketing experience in hospitality to Montage Hotels & Resorts, and over 15 of those years in the Los Cabos market. Most recently, Romero-Peri was executive director of sales & marketing at One&Only Palmilla in Los Cabos, responsible for managing the resort's sales, reservations and revenue teams, as well as for marketing and strategic partnerships. She initially joined the resort at its opening and rebranding in 2003, and later returned as part of the same executive management team in 2011. In April 2015, Romero-Peri was part of the team that successfully repositioned and reopened One&Only Palmilla following the eight-month closure and renovation due to Hurricane Odile.
Hyatt House New York/Chelsea Appoints Mahon As General Manager
Lexin Capital and Real Hospitality Group (RHG) are pleased to announce the appointment of Ashley M. Mahon as general manager of the new Hyatt House New York/Chelsea, which will debut in the fall of 2016 as the brand’s first New York City location. Leading up to the hotel’s opening, Mahon will oversee the new build hotel that is being developed by Lexin Capital, a private investment, development and management company.
Most recently, Mahon served as director of rooms at Hyatt Herald Square where she took part in leading the building’s complete rebuild into the new hotel, as well as implementing brand standards and training new associates. Within this role, Mahon forecasted budgets to ensure maximum profitability and increased Trip Advisor scores from 270 to 120. Prior to her time at Hyatt Herald Square, she was assistant general manager at Fairfield Inn & Suites Manhattan/Chelsea, where she completed re-training of all the associates and revamped scheduling to maximize earnings.
Dream Hotel Group Appoints Taormina As General Manager Of Dream Midtown In Manhattan
Dream Hotel Group announces the appointment of Randy Taormina as general manager of Dream Midtown in New York City. Tapping into more than a decade of industry experience earned at hotels across the U.S., Taormina is responsible for all day-to-day management and operations of the recently renovated Midtown Manhattan address, including oversight, recruitment and development of staff; the hotel's annual budget; and assuring guest satisfaction.
Taormina arrives at Dream Midtown from Highgate Hotels, where he most recently served as Area Managing Director in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area. In the past six years with Highgate, he also held the role of general manager at the chic Refinery Hotel in Manhattan's Fashion District for more than three years, and general manager of Doubletree by Hilton Syracuse for two years. Under his leadership, the Refinery Hotel was named a TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice award-winner in its opening year with a 94 percent approval rating - one of only three NYC hotels to make the list.
