Celestyal Cruises Names Cogan VP Sales & Marketing, Northeast and Midwest US Regions
Celestyal Cruises has announced the appointment of industry veteran Tom Cogan to the role of vice president of sales & marketing for key U.S. markets. A specialist in the cruise and travel arena, Tom’s impressive career history includes serving as a consultant to many world-class travel businesses. He is well-known for his work as the former director of training for the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA).
In his new role with Celestyal Cruises, Cogan will be responsible for increasing sales from travel agent and group sales in his target regions, the development of new tour operator relationships, organizing industry training seminars, and participating in major trade show events complementing the efforts of Celestyal Cruises’ VP of Sales & Marketing Ivonne Brown who is responsible for the rest of the country.

The iconic Hotel Valley Ho in Downtown Scottsdale has welcomed a new director of sales, Stephanie Howard. Before joining the Hotel Valley Ho team, Stephanie was a national sales manager with the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix. She has also held the positions of senior sales manager and later associate director of sales at The Boulders Resort & Spa in Carefree, associate director of sales at Montelucia Resort & Spa in Scottsdale (now Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa), catering sales manager at The Phoenician in Phoenix, and director of sales at La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla.

As a leader in the global hospitality industry, today Orlando World Center Marriott proudly announces the appointment of Steve Lipschutz as director of food & beverage to its distinguished culinary team. In this role, Steve will oversee all food and beverage operations for the hotel’s 2,009 guestrooms and suites, 10 diverse and seasonally-inspired restaurants and lounges, as well as a multi-million dollar banquet operation for the 450,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space.
Lipschutz brings more than 40+ years of industry involvement and 29+ years of Marriott-specific experience to Orlando World Center Marriott. Since beginning his career in 1977, Lipschutz gained more than a decade of know-how in well-known restaurant franchises before transitioning into the hotel sector and serving at multiple notable Marriott hotels — from Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach and Atlanta Marriott Perimeter Center to JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort. However, Lipschutz joins Orlando World Center Marriott most recently from the JW Marriott Orlando, Grande Lakes as the food and beverage director, where he oversaw the management of the resort’s F&B department to ensure operations met the highest standards.

Raymond Vermolen brings a wealth of hospitality expertise and experience to his crucial role as general manager of the Hotel Indigo Los Angeles Downtown hotel. A member of the IHG family for over 20 years, Vermolen has demonstrated noteworthy successes in his previous roles as General Manager of the InterContinental Los Angeles Century City hotel, the InterContinental Houston property, and most recently, the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile hotel.
Bruce Curry has rejoined the IHG family as the director of sales and marketing for the Hotel Indigo Los Angeles Downtown property where he will leverage his diverse experience across veteran hotel brands including Conrad, Sheraton, Regent, Fairmont and Four Seasons after beginning his hospitality career at what is now the InterContinental Hong Kong hotel. Most recently, Bruce served as the Director of Sales & Marketing at the Crowne Plaza Seattle Hotel where he received the Partner in Excellence Award from IHG global sales.

A native of Canada, Harry started off his career at the early age of 17 as an apprentice at the Prince of Wales Hotel and went on to attend culinary school at Niagara College.

Lloyd Martindale has joined as director of golf and Brett Thornsbury as golf course superintendent. Martindale joins Rosewood CordeValle from Fancourt in Blanco George, South Africa where he served as general manager for the property’s three golf courses: The Links, ranked number 34 best golf course in the world and number 1 in South Africa, Montagu and Outeniqua. Before working at Fancourt Martindale developed new programming and supervised staff as the general manager of George Golf Course on the coast of Mossel Bay. A New Mexico native, Thornsbury previously served as the assistant superintendent at Cypress Point Club in Pebble Beach, California, consistently ranked in the Top 5 golf courses in the world. Thornsbury holds a B.S. in Agriculture – Turfgrass Management & Science from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

With more than 15 years in hotel management, Task has held key manager and food and beverage positions in some of the world’s most celebrated destinations including Napa Valley, Chicago, Switzerland and the coast of Turkey. Task joins Big Cypress Lodge from Titanic Deluxe Hotel in Bodrum, Turkey, where he served as Assistant General Manager of this upscale seaside resort.
