MSC Cruises Names Luca Biondolillo New Chief Communications Officer
MSC Cruises S.A., the world’s fourth largest cruise line, announced today a new senior appointment that further strengthens the company’s Geneva-based global management team. Luca Biondolillo will become MSC Cruises’ chief communications officer (CCO). In this newly created global role, Biondolillo — who holds both U.S. and Italian citizenship and has lived and worked internationally for the past 25 years — will report to the CEO, Gianni Onorato.
Having served most recently as Head of corporate communications & public affairs for Benetton Group, the parent company of United Colors of Benetton and other leading global fashion brands, Biondolillo has nearly 20 years of experience in high-level corporate, financial and sustainability communications in multicultural global settings. He is also vice president of the board of the Brussels-based European Association of Communication Directors.
Worldview Travel Appoints Two Travel Industry Veterans To Senior Leadership Team
Mike Dawson has been named President of Santa Ana-headquartered Worldview Travel. Dawson succeeds founder Ricci Zukerman who has assumed the role of Chairman. In his new role he will oversee the leisure and corporate travel operations across the companies in the U.S., Canada and Bermuda. Dawson’s key focus will be to continue the aggressive growth of each company, including new acquisitions, and drive increased efficiencies and profitability.
Dawson is a seasoned travel executive with 35 years of business experience including the last twenty-three years in the travel industry. Crossing all segments of the industry, he has held leadership roles in leisure, corporate, incentive and loyalty travel.
In addition to Dawson’s appointment, Elaine San Juan has joined Worldview Travel as general manager, leisure. She will drive Worldview’s efforts to grow and optimize leisure sales as well as to increase the brand’s presence in key markets through new affiliate relationships as well as by growing its already robust independent contractor relationships.
San Juan brings 25 years of experience in the travel industry to her new role. Prior to joining Worldview, she served as COO & partner at Cadence Travel where she helped to grow revenue four-fold.
Travel Industry Veteran Catherine Tripplehorn Joins GroundLink as Southeast Regional Sales Manager
GroundLink, a tech-enabled provider of executive black car service in major cities throughout the world, announced that Catherine Tripplehorn has joined the company as its southeast regional sales manager, reporting to GroundLink’s chief sales officer, Michael Mooradian. Based in Atlanta, Tripplehorn is responsible for new business development, supporting corporate clients and actively participating in key travel industry associations on behalf of GroundLink.
Tripplehorn has nearly 25 years of sales and account management experience in the travel industry, serving a broad range of clients. Her ground transportation experience includes five years with Park ‘N Fly, where she signed and managed accounts for clients including American Express Travel, Air Tran Airways, AAA and Avis Car Rental. She also served as a director of sales for AIG Travel Guard, and most recently was a multi-national account manager for BCD Travel. She is serving her second term as a board member for the Georgia Business Travel Association and currently chairs the Education Committee. Tripplehorn is a graduate of Shorter University, with a degree in business management.
