Club Med Appoints Michelle Lardizabal To Vice President Of Sales For The USA

Club Med, the brand that pioneered the all-inclusive concept 65 years ago, is pleased to announce the appointment of Michelle Lardizabal to vice president of sales. As an accomplished leader with more than 20 years of sales expertise (with the last 15 years in the travel industry), Lardizabal is heavily immersed in the landscape. Most recently, Lardizabal was the vice president of sales for City Wonders, a European guided tour company, where she successfully led global sales efforts as the company sought new destinations and distribution.

Prior to joining City Wonders, Lardizabal spent more than a decade at Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. completing her career as associate vice president of global sales & distribution. During her tenure, she developed strong relationships with a variety of accounts from local to global partners.

Alon Ben-Gurion Appointed General Manager of DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston North Shore

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston North Shore has announced the appointment of Alon Ben-Gurion as general manager. Drawing on more than three decades of hotel experience, including success at addresses in New York, Washington, D.C. and Chicago, Ben-Gurion is responsible for all operations of the 363-room Salem, Mass. hotel. Ben-Gurion most recently advised in the hospitality industry. Prior, he lead the Hilton Westchester in Rye Brook, N.Y. as general manager, where he oversaw a $30 million dollar renovation of the 37-acre resort style hotel. Ben-Gurion transitioned the hotel through three ownership changes, introduced the highly successful farm-to-fork restaurant and achieved and maintained the competitive set’s highest group RevPar.

Benchmark Hospitality International Names Perry Goodbar Director of Sales & Marketing for Villas of Grand Cypress A Personal Luxury Resort

Benchmark Hospitality International, a leading U.S.-based hospitality management company, has named Perry Goodbar director of sales & marketing for the Villas of Grand Cypress, a Personal Luxury property located in Orlando, Florida.  Mark Cox, general manager, made the announcement. Goodbar was previously vice president of sales, services and business development for the Colonial Williamsburg Company, the multi-property resort consisting of six hotels, golf, spa, retail and dining facilities, located in Williamsburg, Virginia. 

Goodbar has also held sales & marketing leadership roles at the PGA National Resort and Spa, The Broadmoor and Opryland. He has a long-term career history in sales & marketing for unique, independent properties with specialization in golf and spa services.

The Marker Waterfront Resort Key West Appoints Sarka Takovich as General Manager

The Marker Waterfront Resort Key West is pleased to announce the appointment of Sarka Takovich as general manager. Takovich will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of the charming luxury resort, which opened to great fanfare last year. She will also oversee exciting new programs and guest amenities that are soon to be introduced to the property.

Takovich brings with her more than 10 years of hospitality experience to The Marker Waterfront Resort, having worked in several distinct hotels throughout the states. Most recently, she served as general manager at 21C Museum, assisting with the overall operations and finances of the hotel. She has also worked at the revered Little Palm Island Resort & Spa located in Little Torch Key for more than five years in a variety of capacities. She earned a bachelor’s degree from University of Economics in Prague, Czech Republic and is fluent in English, Czech, Russian, Polish and Slovak.

Travelport names Kidd new group Vice President and Managing Director

Travelport, a leading Travel Commerce Platform, recently announced the appointment of Bret Kidd to the position of group vice president and managing director for the Americas.

Kidd will have overall responsibility for Travelport’s travel agency, travel management company (TMC), and regional online travel agency (OTA) customers throughout North America, the Caribbean, and South America. Kidd formerly served as vice president and general manager for Travelport’s Airline Technologies line of business, where he lead the company’s teams responsible for designing, selling and delivering hosting and IT solutions to airlines around the world.

Kidd joined Travelport from Stratos Management Systems, a private equity-backed IT services firm that he co-founded and grew to over $130M. Previously, he held a variety of executive positions at EDS/HP including leading industry verticals, managing strategic accounts, and driving corporate development initiatives in the Travel & Transportation, Global Public Sector and Corporate Strategy and M&A groups. Prior to joining EDS/HP, Kidd served as a consultant to airlines and energy firms at Ernst & Young in its Strategic Advisory services practice. Kidd began his career working on Capitol Hill, serving as special assistant to U.S. Senator Phil Gramm, supporting Senator Gramm in a variety of areas, including health care and fiscal/economic matters.

Waldorf Astoria Orlando and Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek Appoint David Wahba as Director of Sales

Waldorf Astoria Orlando and Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, two premier hotels surrounded by the Walt Disney World Resort, have appointed David Wahba director of sales. Bringing nearly 20 years of managerial sales experience to his new role, Wahba will lead the development of sales strategies across the dual-hotel complex.  Wahba’s career spans many of the most influential hotel groups in the hospitality industry. 

Most recently, he led the group global sales effort as senior director for Wyndham Hotel Group. Eleven years with Starwood Hotels & Resorts included tenure as director of sales for the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort where he also garnered valuable experience with dual-hotel properties. He led the sales and marketing teams at the Westin Beach Resort Ft. Lauderdale and Sheraton Ft. Lauderdale Beach Hotel complex, managing revenue generation for group, leisure and marketing activities at both hotels.
