Kimpton’s Surfcomber Miami, South Beach Welcomes Back Flanigan As General Manager

Kimpton’s Surfcomber Miami, South Beach is pleased to announce the return of Sean Flanigan as the general manager of the “backyard bliss,” design-inspired oceanfront hotel that combines the best of South Beach with the welcoming elements of surprise and delight the Kimpton brand is known for.

Flanigan has a vast portfolio of managerial experience with Kimpton hotels, having served as hotel manager for Hotel Monaco Philadelphia, Surfcomber Miami, and most recently, The Muse New York in Times Square, one of U.S. News & World Report’s “2016 Best Hotels in New York City.” In that role, he was responsible for a $15 million dollar renovation to the fashionable New York City boutique hotel, which included completely re-imagined guest rooms and a refresh to the hotel’s chic and timeless design.

Ahc+Hospitality Appoints Burnett as Director Of Catering

Kristen Burnett has been appointed director of catering for the Amway Grand Plaza in downtown Grand Rapids, MI. Burnett joined AHC+Hospitality in March to help increase sales for executive events, in addition to managing the catering sales department and providing a high level of guest service to groups in the regional area.

Burnett joins the sales and marketing team with diverse background in the hospitality field. Previous experience includes five years at the four-diamond property, Royal Park Hotel in Rochester, MI selling corporate and wedding markets. She previously served as senior sales and event manager for Meadow Brook Hall in Rochester, MI and senior catering sales executive of the Detroit Marriott Troy. With 14 years of total experience, Burnett has worked with large-scale events and won the National Association for Catering and Events Award in 2010 for the “Best Catered Event” category.

Lotte New York Palace Appoints Rebecca Hubbard As New General Manager

Lotte New York Palace announced today the appointment of long time hotel manager, Rebecca Hubbard, as the new general manager. Hubbard, approaching her five-year anniversary with the property, has established herself as a leading force in maintaining and growing the property’s esteemed reputation through her true passion and extreme dedication.

Hubbard joined the Lotte New York Palace team in 2011, bringing with her an extensive background of over 20 years of experience in the industry.  Prior to her position at Lotte New York Palace, Hubbard opened Trump SoHo as the Executive Assistant Manager, overseeing the daily operations and budget of the rooms department. This experience helped her to forge a longstanding reputation for exceptional quality and impeccable service, creating a name for herself as she stepped through the doors of Lotte.

Claspill Joins Line Hotel Austin as Regional Director of Sales & Marketing

Vanessa Claspill will be taking on the position of regional director of sales & marketing at the new Line Hotel Austin  - the former Radisson Hotel (located Downtown) that is being converted into The Line by the development firm Sydell Group, which also manages the iconic NoMad Hotel in New York. . In this role she will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of direct sales and property marketing for the current Radisson Hotel and Suites Austin, which will remain open during the renovation process. Most importantly, she will lead direct sales and marketing efforts surrounding the launch of the Line Austin and will work closely with the creative and developments teams to help solidify and lay the foundation of The Line’s positioning in the unique city of Austin. 

Vanessa has over twenty years of experience in the hospitality industry, successfully opening three properties and leading repositioning initiatives among several others. The Last eight years of her career were spent at the W Hotels, where she drove the sales & marketing efforts for the W Dallas, the W’s of New Orleans complex, and most recently the W Austin.
