Hyatt Regency Austin Announces Michael Murphy as New General Manager
As it puts the finishing touches on its multi-million dollar renovation, Hyatt Regency Austin, located on the shores of Lady Bird Lake in Austin, has announced Michael Murphy as its new general manager.
Murphy joins Hyatt Regency Austin from Hyatt Westlake Plaza in Westlake Plaza, Calif. where he also served as general manager. He has returned to the Austin area after having worked as executive assistant manager at Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa between 2008 and 2010.
Murphy has worked with Hyatt Corporation for more than 20 years. He has held a variety of different positions within the company ranging from guest services manager and executive housekeeper, to rooms manager, front office manager, and more. He has also received several company awards and accolades including Hyatt’s Room Operations Achievement award, Manager of the Year, and more.
Me Miami, Me By Meliá’s First U.S. Hotel, Appoints General Manager And Sales Director
Meliá Hotels International is pleased to announce the appointment of Olivier Servat as general manager of the forthcoming ME Miami.
A veteran of the hospitality industry, Servat has assumed roles throughout the United States, France and Morocco, and will bring not only 20 years of experience, but also a fresh perspective to the ME by Meliá team. With vast knowledge of both the U.S. and international markets, he most recently served as the senior consultant for Steigenberger Hotels AG. Previous positions include a range of leadership roles including the general manager of W Washington DC; the general manager of W Paris Opéra, which he opened; the hotel manager of Le Méridien Etoile in Paris; and the deputy general manager of Le Méridien Montparnasse in Paris. Servat’s analytical and innovative leadership has resulted in global recognition and positive, organization-wide changes in each hotel.
Joining Servat is the appointment of Sylvia Martinez as the hotel’s director of sales and marketing. Martinez brings over 16 years of sales, revenue management and marketing experience at hotels worldwide and the Miami market. Martinez developed her career through a series of appointments with luxury and lifestyle hotels including W South Beach, Biltmore Hotel, and most recently, DOSM for Hersha Hospitality. In her new role at ME Miami, Martinez will oversee sales and revenue management initiatives, using her extensive experience and strong skills and also providing leadership on the day-to-day operations of the sales and marketing team while maintaining focus on the hotel’s strategic plans to meet the brand’s revenue goals.
Omni Hotels & Resorts Welcomes Home Holly Turner
Omni Hotels & Resorts announced today the appointment of Holly Turner as general manager for Omni Mandalay Hotel at Las Colinas in Texas. In this role, she will manage all operational aspects at the elegant Dallas-area property, including sales, marketing, food and beverage and future growth efforts.
A true success story, the 19-year veteran started her career at Omni Mandalay serving diverse positions including reservations manager, director of services and director of operations. Turner climbed the ranks working at various hotels across the country until finally returning home as the new general manager for the luxury Las Colinas hotel. Turner comes to Omni Mandalay after serving as hotel manager at Omni Fort Worth Hotel. Prior to that, she served as general manager at Omni Richmond Hotel, where the property climbed from No. 22 to No. 9 in TripAdvisor rankings. She has also held leadership positions at Omni Park West in Dallas and Omni Parker House in Boston.
During her time with Omni, Tuner has received several internal awards including “Manager of the Quarter” in 1991, “Manager of the Year” in 2001 and 2002, and “Ideal Rooms Executive” in 2010. Holly graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Hospitality Management.

Hyatt Regency Maui Welcomes Ben Premack, New Director of Sales and Marketing
Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa announces the appointment of Ben Premack as the new director of sales and marketing. An experienced hospitality professional with 13 years in the travel industry, Premack brings to the LEED EBOM certified resort strong leadership, analytical skills and a history of sales and marketing successes throughout the industry. Premack has been with Hyatt since 2003, most recently serving as director of sales and marketing at Grand Hyatt DFW.
Premack began his career with Hyatt in 2003 at Hyatt Regency Bethesda and worked as an assistant front office manager before being promoted to sales manager. There, he found his niche in sales and didn’t look back. A seasoned Hyatt ambassador, Premack pre-opened Grand Hyatt San Antonio in 2007, and then served as the associate director of sales at Grand Hyatt Seattle/Hyatt at Olive 8 as well as Grand Hyatt Washington D.C. He was then named director of sales at Hyatt Regency Philadelphia in 2010 prior to his most recent position at the Grand Hyatt DFW.

Le Meridien, Indianapolis hasannounced the appointment of Chris Ratay as the hotel’s general manager. Ratay brings over 30 years of experience in the hotel and restaurant industry, holding positions such as vice president of operations, general manager, and director of sales & marketing.
Ratay has worked for a number of notable hotel brands and began his career working for Hyatt throughout California, in Miami, Florida; and Knoxville, Tennessee. He was involved in the pre-opening of the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Sacramento, and then landed with Omni Hotels Corporation in Indianapolis, where he worked for nearly ten years.
